Day Care

A range of Day Care and home-based, group or individual services is available for our clients, their carers, family and friends.

Day Care offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for people of all ages, from diagnosis and throughout their illness.

We welcome patients as our guests offering a break from their usual routine, in a place where the atmosphere and environment is conductive to living life to the full.

If you would like to visit before agreeing to attend Day Care regularly just a simple telephone call asking for our Day Care Sister or any member of the nursing staff is all that is necessary to arrange a convenient time to visit. If you wish you can also bring a friend or relative with you.

How often can you attend?

We are open for Day Care Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and guests usually attend on the same day once weekly. Tuesday is devoted to guests up to the age of 60.

Guests usually attend for a period of 12 weeks but this is dependent on individual needs.

We also seek to support the carers and family of our guests, giving them the same individual care and respect. Carers' Day, on the first Monday of every month offers support, companionship and complementary therapies.

What is the daily routine in Day Care?

Guests arrive mid-morning and are greeted with drinks served by our volunteer housekeepers. Throughout the day, they choose freely from the services and activities on offer.

Pre-meal drinks are served at 12 noon followed by lunch at 12.30 p.m. All our food is 'home cooked' and we cater for special dietary needs.

Guests usually leave at approximately 3.30 p.m although this is entirely personal choice as some people prefer a shorter day.
