Fundraising

The majority of the hospice's in-house services are free of charge. However, while our services are free of charge to the user, they are not cost free.

The hospice receives less than half its costs from the local Primary Care Trust. The rest - ideally £1000 per day must be found through fundraising, legacies and charitable donations.

Until they have reason to visit or use a hospice, most people do not think about how it is funded.

Can you help?

From hosting a coffee morning, afternoon tea or open garden to managing a large event or remembering us in your will - the choice is yours!

We would love to hear from you if you have any ideas about fundraising, but in the meantime can you help us with any of the following:

  • Can you persuade your company to help us through organising fundraising activities? Will your employer match your fundraising?
  • Would your club or organisation do some fundraising for us?
  • Do you have an hour to spare to man a stall, sell tickets at an event, serve refreshments, sell raffle tickets or rattle collection boxes?
  • Are you a student with lots of energy? Can you get your friends together to organise some fundraising?
  • Would you like to create a fundraising group in your area or join an existing group?
  • Do you have stuff in your attic you can sell for us on eBay or donate to our charity shops?
